I always stand up for what I believe in and what is right even if it means standing alone...In life standing up for your rights is never easy but it is very important to embark on this Long and difficult path to enforce and protect your individual and consumer rights. We all must be aware of our rights. In exercising our rights are we truly free individuals.

I have won many long customer battles against Banks,Phone Companies, Airlines, Electronics Companies etc. I have devoted time and energy to demand positive resolutions for myself and people around me. I hate it when one is denied what every customer has a right to...and that is when I find it important to address it and complain about it. I know it takes time to escalate matters but somehow I prefer to address it no matter what. Having lived in America for sometime, I give a lot of importance to Individual Rights.

It is my nephew who inspired me to write this blog. He felt the importance of his rights and the need to address this subject in a blog very early in age when he was unhappy with the services of a certain Airline. It was then that he suggested that I should write a blog concerning such matters too.

Everyone has certain rights but we are usually not informed about them or do not exercise them. We have a right to be heard...and we must never forget that. There is One Right for All and None should be discriminated. One has the right to question and a right to information. With growing middle class touch 400 million and consumerism, Indian Companies need to become responsive to Consumer complaints and grievances. Ignoring such complaints could lead to big financial losses for the company on consumer complaints being upheld by Consumer Courts.

In this blog, I would like us to share our knowledge about how best to address our complaints effectively as a customer or consumer. It is also important to inform people about the poor customer services provided by reputed brand names. But I would also like to hi-light the names of companies and brands who have co-operated with customers and given positive responses. Please do share your experiences too.

You do not win every battle in life but you learn lessons from it and hopefully live to win it some day. Through this blog ,I would like to inspire people to stand up for their rights and if needed fight for it but the fight for your rights has to be fair and honest. I aim to create a direction and awareness for people who are not given their due rights as an individual first and then as a consumer. There are always solutions and there are way to reach those solutions or alternatives as customers through proper channels.

Whenever you have been able to get your rights heard, you should generously share that knowledge as how best to achieve that so that others could follow that too. Pay it forward ! We should share knowledge and in doing so we will learn more from each other. Alone you can stand up for your rights but with people behind you and with you , there will be more force in it and consumers and customers will not be taken for granted. United we stand in getting value for our hard earned money...United we stand in ensuring we get good customer service.

When there is a will there is a way. When you stand up for your rights and for others , somebody will listen to you sooner or later. Your voice will be heard ! But for that you have to speak out ! Silence can sometimes be mistaken as weakness or indifference. Always know your rights and request for those rights to be implemented but if they are not then demand that justice be served.

Always stand up for your rights...

Consumer Rights Consumer Might !

One Right- One Rank One Pension

One Right Blog believes in One Rank One Pension. It is the right of the officers to be granted this and it is only fair to grant them this as they have earned what they ask. As it is this will boost the morale of the Armed Forces all the more when they get this as an appreciation for their commitment to their duty in defending the Nation.

This is too little they ask considering all that they do for the Nation and how they sacrifice their lives on our borders everyday. This is too little they ask considering all their families have to go through when they are separated from them most of the times when serving in field areas or conflict zones.

They are putting their lives at risk for us everyday and we as a Nation can't even do this for them as a token of appreciation and recognition of their life threatening work. When men and women join the Armed Forces, they are prepared to risk their lives for the country and that may be their choice according to some but it is never easy for anyone to choose a profession that involves threat to life. It is our choice now how we support them in getting their Rights !

We may not be that brave enough to put our lives in danger willingly to serve the nation on borders but we can demonstrate courage in supporting their cause for One Rank One Pension. The Armed Forces always take a stand for us and now it is high time that we stand up for them and their rights.

No amount of money may sufficiently compensate for the loss of so many lives of so many of our brave officers and soldiers but we could at least try to pay it forward for what we have received from them. As it is as a nation we have not even dedicated one day in a year to honour our war heroes and military veterans the way other nations do. So the least we can do is to honour and respect them by giving this tribute...

This year on Kargil Vijay Diwas, the war heroes have not been honoured the way they should have been like every year with wide media coverage and television shows dedicated to them. I feel sad that all their sacrifices are wasted when their due is not given to them and their families left behind. Geneva Convention was violated in a big way in the Kargil War and yet so many of us did not even find it important to sign the petition sent to the U.N by their families. We could not get them justice there but here in our own country we must do justice with them and sign the petition to support their cause and motivate the government to hear them for once on the subject of One Rank One Pension. Try to visit all our borders and experience all that they go through there for us and then you will understand and empathise that the Armed Forces are always on duty no matter what all their lives whatever the time . They truly deserve what they want - One Rank One Pension. Jai Hind !

Act now !

This Blog is not only a platform for putting forward complaints but a place to inform people of the kind of services some companies and brands give to the customers. This Blog deals with good and bad reviews of services and also encourages people to be vocal about their unpleasant experiences regarding their Rights so that these could be addressed through the right channels. One cannot just keep complaining without doing anything. It is important to act to ensure things change for the better. But one has to act keeping in mind the rules and laws as well. Everything has to be approached with facts, evidence, tact and diplomacy to get the desired long lasting  results if you want to be heard.

If nothing else sharing experiences will warn others beforehand about the bad customer service they may encounter in a certain area and how to be well prepared to deal with it accordingly and effectively. We have the Right to Information and the Right to receive good customer service. We should be more conscious about our Rights. With the emergence of Social Media, we are now fortunate enough to be equipped with the appropriate tools to tackle any kind of injustice by attracting attention to it and reaching out to  provide maximum support to each other. Today you are not alone in your fight against corruption or violation of your rights. You may not get positive results every time but what is important is to stand up for yourself and if honesty and right are on your side, you can never go wrong.

Dominos Pizza India has become a stale brand...

It is very disappointing that their pizzas are not serving the taste of it's customers. They are not doing justice to their age old reputation of creating finest of thin crusts...Their thin crust pizza I recently had was stale, cold and did not taste good. The topping was not  looking fresh and the oil used seemed to have a string unappealing odour. On the other hand Pizza Hut usually delivers fresh and piping hot pizza on time.

I also feel that there should be more offers on pizzas ordered on the phone as well. We could not avail the 25% discount yesterday as that was only restricted to online ordering.
Getting through to their numbers is also a problem. The quality of service as well as taste of pizzas at the Noida Dominos ( Botanical Garden) does not deserve to be complimented.

Please give your feed backs to Dominos every time and complain if needed to ensure you felt value for money from them. If nothing else they will think twice before taking customers for granted. Good pizzas are supposed to deliciously satisfy the appetite and not put you off pizzas forever !

Shoppers Stop's hidden charges in the masks of different names given to discount sales/ Lack of etiquette and clarity of their own products

Recently I went to exchange some clothes I had bought in their discount period and to my dismay I was charged about Rs.51 extra for the exchange of clothes from the same brand and same MRP . The cashier was rude and simply told me that he cannot do anything. So I decided to investigate and after wasting so much of time and going up and down the stairs to the Customer Services Office as well as demanding to talk to their senior, I got an answer though unsatisfactory.

The floor manager was quite pleasant, courteous and helpful. And I was informed by him that according to Company rules I will have to be charged more even though it does not make sense to any customer for paying more for the same items that too bought in discount period just a day before. He explained that according to the Company the stuff I had bought just a day before were actually from the so called Promotions Sale and the next day was the End of the Season sale where 5% tax is charged on MRP. Naturally I found that unfair and unreasonable as whatever said and done because both days were times of discount sales and I felt that there should have been more clarity regarding the same beforehand so that the customer was prepared for it. Instead there was no clear distinction between the two so called name tags given to the discount sales which would help the customers to differentiate between the two.

So I have decided to contact their head office regarding the same. If there was clarity and the customer was not intended to be misled by Shoppers Stop's hidden charges, then the cashier would have been able to tell me the same. Instead the staff at the cash counters were baffled too.

All should carefully examine and understand their bills and specially taxes charged which we tend to overlook sometimes. Everyone who does not know needs to be informed that usually such stores charge five percent extra tax during discounts time and they have different internal rules regarding different discounts they offer on different days which leaves no choice for the customers but to pay extra on the same products. It is very sad that a lot of restaurants too are getting away with charging us extra under the label of service tax which actually they are not supposed to be charging. But I never thought that big companies like Shoppers Stop would do the same in a different way though...

Like Lifestyle their staff's etiquettes and manners also need to be questioned. When I was getting an exchange slip made, their security person was continuously coughing on my face without covering his mouth and while bending to write the slip saliva fell from his mouth on the clothes I intended to exchange. Their staff really needs classes on manners and etiquettes.

Lifestyle needs a makeover

Shopping at Lifestyle can be quite exhausting and unpleasant at times specially during end of season sales time where there is utter confusion and long lines at the cash counters or clothes scattered on the floor. Their home section is always in the state of confusion as it is and you have to really watch your way there as the staff  seems to be always rushing to their restrooms in a hurry and in the process colliding into customers. I always avoid going to the home section for that reason...

Recently I was also disappointed to the see that their clothes were soiled or stained. And when I requested for a certain stained item from the lingerie section to be exchanged, I was met with opposition at first but eventually I convinced the floor manager to do so after a lot of persuasion. But my advice is that always check their items thoroughly before purchasing. I always check the stuff I buy but this time even I got misled thinking and trusting the sales person and not checking it in details as I usually do. I notice that their staff spills big packets of lingerie on the floor so that customers could choose from them. That reminded me of some street shops where clothes are displayed on the floor. I actually did not feel like buying such items as I give a lot of importance to cleanliness...

Long time back I have had experiences of being overcharged in my shopping bill out there as well. And in sales times I even had the misfortune of walking over the puddle of  a child's urine which the Lifestyle staff did not bother to clean immediately and clothes were falling over it. Remember always wash the clothes you purchase before wearing !

Lifestyle certainly needs a makeover in it's cleanliness, staff attitude specially in home section , staff etiquettes as well as maintenance of the clothes they sell.

Wake Up Vodafone ! - Complaints will only accumulate if they are ignored...You will have to deal with them at one time or the other

Problems accumulate when they are ignored ! The same way complaints will accumulate when they are ignored by Vodafone. And there will come a time when Vodafone will have to deal with all those unresolved complaints all at once or lose their customers to other companies.

Vodafone just does not have the right approach to deal with complaints and resolve them effectively ! Their approach is to harass customers to the point that either they are then too tired to pursue their complaints or Vodafone ignores the customers complaints completely to the extent that customers are forced to forget about their complaints in the face of that indifference.

Somehow Vodafone always manages to cover up their carelessness and mistakes in the smoke of time  but they forget that sooner or later their unprofessionalism and dishonesty will be clearly visible to All...

Vodafone's Continuous Harassment of Customers

The harassment does not end here...For a month and a half I am being continuously harassed by Vodafone. The flames of the unfair resolution by Viodafone Nodal Office and Appellate Authority Office had not even extinguished as yet that now another form of harassment had started. Now I am being charged for a service that I had deactivated long time back on the 20th of May 2015.

Even after deactivating ISD55 pack on the 20th of May 2015 and getting confirmation for it, the pack was activated by the carelessness of their Backend team again in my account. So I complained about it and on the 10th of June, I got a confirmation by SMS that ISD55 pack in my account had been deactivated after my complaint. I was assured that I would not be charged for it as it was Vodafone's fault.

But this month's bill reflects that I have been charged Rs.55 for ISD pack that stood deactivated from 20th of May and another Rs.49 was charged as clip on it.Vodafone will have to do reversal of both charges as it was confirmed to me that the ISD55 pack had been deactivated on the 20th of May. Also I have been charged last month as well as this month for VAS which I have not used.

The reference numbers are 2564011888 and 2569859468. On May 20th Mr. Surinder and their Customer Services Manger Mr, Subhash had confirmed that the ISD55 pack was deactivated and yet I am being charged for it and Vodafone is activating that service in my account repeatedly without my knowledge. This is heights of bad customer service where you are constantly harassing the customer and providing such an unpleasant customer service. I wish to escalate this matter too. Already another issue of last month with Vodafone has been taken to Ministry of Consumer Affairs and now this too will be addressed at the highest level.
