I always stand up for what I believe in and what is right even if it means standing alone...In life standing up for your rights is never easy but it is very important to embark on this Long and difficult path to enforce and protect your individual and consumer rights.We all must be aware of our rights.In exercising our rights are we truly free individuals.

I have won many long customer battles against Banks,Phone Companies, Airlines, Electronics Companies etc. I have devoted time and energy to demand positive resolutions for myself and people around me. I hate it when one is denied what every customer has a right to...and that is when I find it important to address it and complain about it. I know it takes time to escalate matters but somehow I prefer to address it no matter what. Having lived in America for sometime, I give a lot of importance to Individual Rights.

It is my nephew who inspired me to write this blog. He felt the importance of his rights and the need to address this subject in a blog very early in age when he was unhappy with the services of a certain Airline. It was then that he suggested that I should write a blog concerning such matters too.

Everyone has certain rights but we are usually not informed about them or do not exercise them. We have a right to be heard...and we must never forget that. There is One Right for All and None should be discriminated. One has the right to question and a right to information. With growing middle class touch 400 million and consumerism, Indian Companies need to become responsive to Consumer complaints and grievances. Ignoring such complaints could lead to big financial losses for the company on consumer complaints being upheld by Consumer Courts.

In this blog, I would like us to share our knowledge about how best to address our complaints effectively as a customer or consumer. It is also important to inform people about the poor customer services provided by reputed brand names. But I would also like to hi-light the names of companies and brands who have co-operated with customers and given positive responses. Please do share your experiences too.

You do not win every battle in life but you learn lessons from it and hopefully live to win it some day. Through this blog ,I would like to inspire people to stand up for their rights and if needed fight for it but the fight for your rights has to be fair and honest. I aim to create a direction and awareness for people who are not given their due rights as an individual first and then as a consumer. There are always solutions and there are way to reach those solutions or alternatives as customers through proper channels.

Whenever you have been able to get your rights heard, you should generously share that knowledge as how best to achieve that so that others could follow that too. Pay it forward ! We should share knowledge and in doing so we will learn more from each other. Alone you can stand up for your rights but with people behind you and with you , there will be more force in it and consumers and customers will not be taken for granted. United we stand in getting value for our hard earned money...United we stand in ensuring we get good customer service.

When there is a will there is a way. When you stand up for your rights and for others , somebody will listen to you sooner or later. Your voice will be heard ! But for that you have to speak out ! Silence can sometimes be mistaken as weakness or indifference. Always know your rights and request for those rights to be implemented but if they are not then demand that justice be served.

Tata Sky continues to harass customers !

TATA SKY SILENT ON THE MATTER & NOT CARRYING OUT THOROUGH INVESTIGATION REGARDING OUR COMPLAINT

Tata Sky customers suffer even after paying semi- annual subscription ! Beware this could happen to you ! They could remove parts from your disc to force you to buy a new one...

Attached is copy of the email my father sent to Tata Sky customer care on July 5 Th 2017-

" Reference my email of today attached
The following is brought to your notice in connection with Service Request No. YEBQ7NZ-Connection No. 1174069888

1, Your representative Sh. Pavan visited this morning and after checking the Dish Antenna on the roof of the Building told my wife that all the electronic signals receiving devices were missing from the Dish Antenna and that we have to get a new Dish costing about Rs 1,000 or more. He also informed that he had connected our Dish to some other Dish to enable service to be resumed. My wife told him to DISCONNECT  the same as t was not legally correct to do so. He thereafter did so.

2.My wife also told him that the rooftop had controlled access by our building Security who give the key for the roof-top only to Dish TV services after entering the particulars of the Tata Sky technicians.

3.We then checked the Security Entry  Register to check the visits of Tata Sky technicians' from June 22 onwards. Details are as under:
June 22     Tata Sky Rep. but scribbled his name in illegible manner. Telephone Number entered  9540244705. Visited in response to service request from G Block
June 23        Tate Sky Rep Ganesh visited in response to service request from Flat GBlock
 July 04    Tata Sky rep Vishal visited in response to our request
July 05        Tata Sky rep Pawan visited rooftop in response to our request

4.Since Security gives controlled access to rooftop where the Dish Antennas are  located  it is NOT possible for a third party to visit and remove the electronic devices from our Dish Antenna. Also it is not possible for any Non-Technical person t. o remove the electronic devices from the Dish Antenna. What is possible is that one of your Rps. to fix the problem of another Flat effected a change. Our problems started from June 22 owards.

The details of Complaints serviced by your Reps should be available at your end and Tata Sky is requested to investigate the jobs done by each rep.

Intriguingly, when Vishal visited yesterday he did not point out any missing electronic devices or he just came as a formality and did not investigate the fault.

On all counts therefore, Tata Sky is responsible for the missing electronic devices and therefore your considered reply of readiness to replace the missing electronic devices AT NO COST TO US will be AWAITED BEFORE WE ESCALATE THE MATTER  in ways open to us.

For all practical purposes the Complaint stands NOT SERVICED. The same was intimated to your Customer Care Rep.ROOPA when she rang up this afternoon. My wife DID NOT SIGN  the Completion Report as the problem persists."

Delhi Haat administration's unfair treatment ! - Word with a certain craftsman

Delhi Haat is no longer as authentic as it used to be in the early days when it gave equal opportunity to all craftsmen and artisans from different States to showcase their talents. Now it has become very commercial because stalls are basically given to the same shopkeepers and same States every time because of which many craftsmen from other States feel left out and harassed.

It seems Delhi Haat administration is clearly becoming very selective and partial to some by giving the best spots and stalls to states of their choices only which clearly demonstrates their discrimination. Or is it that corruption is eroding the Delhi Haat administration ? Word and feedback from certain craftsmen has it that how ever much they may appeal to the administration, they are never ever given a chance to display their handicrafts at the best location at Delhi Haat or perform even free puppet shows for that matter any more.

In fact they are pushed to the farther most dark side or the extreme end of Delhi Haat which does not do justice to their handicrafts as that end is hardly frequented that much by visitors. According to one craftsman from Rajasthan, the people or shopkeepers who are winning good positions of stalls at Delhi Haat are apparently giving expensive gifts or bribes to ensure that their positions of stalls remain permanent.  

Stalls should be given on rotation basis. Denying people every time the right, chance and opportunity to display their handicrafts at the best spot there and always giving them the worst positions of stalls is highly discriminatory. Such matters should be thoroughly investigated based on the feedback of the craftsmen to weigh the truth and get to the bottom of the issue to resolve it.

Great India Place Mall- You can never lose a thing there !


If you lose anything at GIP Mall Noida, you will definitely find it soon enough. Either you will have to contact their Lost & Found Dept. or they will contact you if your shopping bag contains a bill as well. If you have paid through credit card, they will locate you on your number through the bill. We had dropped one of our shopping bags once and that too outside the mall and realised much later when we were on our way home.

The security guard Ram Prasad ji had located the bag immediately through his alertness and sent it to the Lost & Found section. Following that Mr. Manohar got in touch with us to inform that we could collect our lost bag from them. This goes to show that their outside security guards as well as the Lost & Found section there are doing a great job and are quite efficient ! Feedback has it that people have also recovered their money that they dropped or lost at the mall. My compliments to the two people named in this article for doing their job well !

Tata Sky does it again !


In the entire time that we have subscribed to Tata Sky, never have we ever received the vouchers selected at the time of payment. These vouchers are equivalent to the amount you pay for the subscription.

Last time which was about six months back, I had complained about not receiving all the vouchers amounting to the semi-annual charge but Tata Sky deliberately kept delaying addressing the matter till it was too late. They got away with not being accountable by just recently stating that now it was too late to give those vouchers to us as they had already expired. It took them six months to come to that unfair resolution to the complaint and I have it on record.

That is when I had told them that they will eventually have to be answerable if they repeat the same carelessness once again this month when we renew our semi-annual HD platinum pack. And as I had expected, as usual yet again Tata Sky did not send us those selected vouchers equivalent to the amount of payment of Rs.4365 on our email id.

So what does Tata Sky have to say now ??? It is high time Tata Sky takes responsibility for their actions and show some responsibility towards their customers. For their information might I add that the vouchers in question now are not expired and so they must immediately send us those vouchers. These vouchers are the same amount as the amount which was paid on Feb. 1st 2017 which is a large amount and so remembering the codes of so many vouchers is almost impossible and that is why these should be sent on the registered email id as promised. I am following this case on my Consumer Rights blog as well as social media page One Right ! If nothing else, people should be aware that Tata Sky cheats customers and misleads them. Tata Sky does not deliver what they promise !

Tata Sky lies & misleads customers !

Reference # UKE9MID , Tata Sky states today after six months that they had already sent vouchers to our registered email id on the 23rd of August 2016 which is UTTERLY FALSE !!! The vouchers never reached us and that is why I kept complaining about it since August till date ! Why would I be complaining in the first place had the vouchers reached me !?

As expected Tata Sky lies and misleads customers. The various reference numbers attached to my case will indicate that they too somewhere agreed in the beginning that the vouchers never reached me and so kept looking into it but now to cover up their mistake they are coming up with this absurd excuse. It is their fault and they should make up for all the inconvenience caused and the time as well as energy wasted from our side in pursuing this case. Because of their delay in addressing this complaint instantly the entitled vouchers never reached us and expired . Naturally now the validity of the vouchers cannot be extended because they have expired due to their carelessness. But there are other ways they can compensate the customers one of them is by issuing fresh vouchers. On top of it they had the audacity to resend the expired vouchers in Dec. Couldn't they have sent the vouchers well within time ? I just hope they are not using the vouchers meant for the customers. These vouchers in question were equivalent to a large amount since they were for the six months subscription.

I will escalate my complaint on social media platforms as well as my Consumer Rights Blog ONE RIGHT FB page to inform consumers about how Tata Sky misleads people by falsely promising customers vouchers equivalent to the amount paid at time of recharge but never really sending them to customers. In my long association with this company, the vouchers have never reached us on our registered email id.

False assurances and lies are what can be expected from Tata Sky staff. As said earlier, their staff is spoiling the brand name of Tata by their unprofessional attitude. Tata Sky can never handle complaints effectively and positively. With Tata Sky it is only words and no action !

Consumers beware ! Tata Sky will mislead you where their products and services are concerned and harass you endlessly to exhaust you completely till you are forced to just give up on your complaint ! Tata Sky will never ever handle your complaints seriously and fairly !

Better watch out Tata Sky ! This time I am following this issue on social media and would be watching closely whether Tata Sky send the entitled vouchers at the time of payment end of this month. Perhaps this time they would be under pressure to send the entitled vouchers at the time of payment because I would be going live on the internet about my feedback regarding this long time issue !

Citibank India's Unprofessional Banking


Here they go again ! Citibank's unprofessional banking is visible yet in another incident. Another customer has faced issues regarding their cheques. Despite the account holder having sufficient balance in his Citibank account, the customer's Citibank cheque bounced. Citibank India continues harassing customers and causing them endless inconvenience. They deduct more from the amount in the cheques issued as it is. And after all the inconvenience they do not even have a sincere word of apology or make efforts to ensure that their mistakes are not repetitive.
Citibank India can never ever possess the required commitment towards their customers in making them have a pleasant banking interaction. They never ever fix responsibility on their staff or hold them accountable in making the customers suffer. There is something definitely wrong with the working of Citibank India ! People please be careful before issuing Citibank India cheques and make sure you take screenshots of your account and cheque before any transaction. Citibank India is proving to be an unreliable bank for long now !

Citibank India- Unpleasant banking and unpleasant interaction


Never can one have a really pleasant banking interaction with Citibank India staff as they are always so full of bad attitude, rigidity and insensitivity. In fact one can easily detect a tone of arrogance and impatience in their voice even when they are wrong. In short many I know including I have always had quite an unpleasant experience in dealing with Citibank staff where complaints are concerned. In the recent episode of the cheque where Citibank was responsible for the wrongful  deduction of an amount of Rs.3000 instead of Rs.300, they did not even have the courtesy to send a written apology for the inconvenience caused. Instead they took long to even solve the entire issue and when their senior staff member Jyotsna called it was merely to inform me that finally the amount had been credited to my account and not to really offer a sincere apology. From her impatient attitude and tone of voice, it was very evident that she was really not ready to offer a heartfelt apology or take my feedback seriously.
From a reputed bank like Citibank India, one would accept better but what one receives is thorough disappointment because they do not know how to talk well with customers. They lack the professionalism, tact and diplomacy that is so required in resolving issues with customers. Their way of complaint management is careless and atrocious.
 Citibank U.S.A staff is so helpful, sensitive and courteous. Then one wonders why Citibank India staff have such a bad attitude ! Citibank India needs to train their employees how to have professional interactions with consumers without offending the customers. They are really in need of a lot of training. HDFC bank is definitely better than Citibank as their regional managers too get involved when addressing escalated complaints and are very interactive with customers. It is mostly pleasant banking with HDFC bank. Of course there can be problems at every bank including HDFC but eventually someone hears you at HDFC unlike Citibank India where nobody is willing to even understand the customer's point of view. I did have an escalated complaint with HDFC a long time back but their seniors got involved in providing an effective resolution and even made it up to me as a customer for the inconvenience caused. Many years back Citibank India may have done the same but since 10-16 years somewhere it seems they are hiring the wrong sort of people who are definitely not able to perform well with customers or their training is lacking completely. Anyone who is a HDFC customer would never ever like any other bank because they assign a team of dedicated people to your account to make your banking experience as pleasant as possible. As I say there are all kind of unprofessional people everywhere and at every bank but Citibank India has most of them. My feedback is based on all the feedbacks I receive from other customers as well.
