SONY Bravia TVs come with Wi-Fi connectivity problems!
My family loves SONY TVs but I am not a die hard fan of Sony. On our recent purchase of yet another Sony TV, I was compelled to do a thorough research on the customers feedbacks on their recent TVs because we have been facing endless Wi-Fi connectivity issues with one of the new TVs bought from Sony.
Mostly customers have been complaining about Wi-Fi connectivity issues on Sony TVs lately. And Sony does not do much to resolve the matter. As of now they have not even offered to replace it. The Sony Bravia TV that I received as a gift is having continuous Wi-Fi connectivity problems and the apps don’t even open through Wi-Fi hotspot connection despite the signal being excellent ! I tried everything to resolve it from my end- Power off, restarting, adjusting time and updating the software but nothing has worked ! Their technicians visited twice and even did a factory reset but that too did not make a difference. The Sony technicians are quite indifferent when it comes to addressing TV issues once they receive a positive feedback for the installation !🤪 Also Sony technicians do not honour appointment timings on visits after installation.
Always ensure that the Sony technician updates the software and adjusts the network date/time at the time of installation. On calling the Sony central customer service number I was informed that the outdated software could be the root cause of the problem of Wi-Fi connectivity and there could be some problem with the hardware. Whatever the problem may be, I am highly disappointed with the after sales service of Sony! 😞 While the Sony technician did a goodTV installation job but he did not bother about the intricacies like software update etc. at the time of installation as well as on later visits which could have effectively addressed the issue .
A new TV is meant to be enjoyed and not to be worked on ! Instead of their technician doing their job perfectly, I as a customer am expected to try to resolve it from my end all these days. We also upgraded our modem to ensure that there is no problem with the modem/ router in causing the connectivity issue. However all our devices are getting connected to the Wi-Fi at the same range except for the Sony TV.
I would have expected better product quality and professional customer service from a trusted brand like Sony but now I am regretting that I gave them a high rating solely based on the TV installation experience. Now I give them a very low rating on their TV performance and customer service of technician.
